Who is responsible

What this policy covers

It covers the public marketing website for TabulaSQL (downloads, contact form, and related pages). The desktop app itself stores your database credentials on your own machine; that local app data never goes through this website.

What we collect

• Download form: email address, chosen platform (macOS / Windows / Linux), optional marketing opt-in, IP address, and browser user agent. We store this so we know who downloaded the app and can reduce abuse.
• Contact form: name, email, subject, and message. We use this only to reply to you.
• Spam protection: Cloudflare Turnstile may process a short-lived verification token and related technical signals when you submit a form. We do not use Turnstile to build a marketing profile.
• Cookie: after a successful download gate, we set a first-party cookie (tabulasql_download_email, about 1 year) so returning visitors are not asked for their email again. It does not contain your email address.

We do not run advertising trackers or sell personal data. Installer files are hosted on GitHub Releases; downloading them may also be subject to GitHub's own privacy policy.

How we use it

• To start your download and keep a record of download leads.
• To notify the site owner that someone downloaded or sent a contact message.
• To send occasional product update emails only if you tick the optional "email me about new releases" checkbox. That consent is separate from the required email used to unlock the download.
• To prevent spam and abuse (Turnstile, honeypot field on the contact form, basic technical metadata).

Legal bases

Where GDPR applies: we process download and contact data because it is necessary to provide the download / reply you asked for (contract / steps at your request), and to keep the site secure (legitimate interest). Marketing emails are based on your explicit opt-in consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

Who we share it with

We do not sell or rent your data. We only use processors needed to run the site, for example:

• Hosting / email delivery providers that send or receive the contact and download-notification mail.
• Cloudflare (Turnstile, and optionally CDN / DNS if the domain is proxied through Cloudflare).
• GitHub, when your browser fetches the installer from GitHub Releases.

How long we keep it

Download leads and contact messages are kept as long as they are useful for support, security, or (with consent) updates, and are deleted when you ask us to remove them, or when we no longer need them. The download cookie expires after about one year, or earlier if you clear site cookies.

Your rights

You can ask us to access, correct, or delete your personal data, object to processing, or withdraw marketing consent. Email [email protected] and we will respond as soon as reasonably possible. If you are in the EEA/UK, you may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Children

This site is aimed at adults and developers. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes

If we change this policy in a meaningful way, we will update the date at the top of this page.
